Published article: Assessing novelty and systems thinking in conceptual models of tech. systems
Today, my manuscript Assessing novelty and systems thinking in conceptual models of technological systems was published in IEEE Transactions on Education.
In this article, my co-authors and I apply our Systems Thinking Assessment Rubric (STAR) and the design novelty assessment rubric published by Jagtap (2016) to conceptual models of technological systems constructed by teams of graduate engineering students and professional engineers. Teams identified a real-life problem and constructed complex conceptual models of their chosen solutions in the MBSE language Object-Process Methodology.
The article is part of a research project concerned with assessing model-based systems thinking in science and engineering education.
