Published article: Model-based systems thinking: Assessing engineering student teams

On November 11th, my manuscript Model-based systems thinking: Assessing engineering student teams was published in IEEE Transactions on Education.

In this article, my co-authors and I apply our Systems Thinking Assessment Rubric (STAR) to conceptual models of technological systems constructed by teams of undergraduate engineering students. Student teams selected a real-life consumer-facing application, such as Dropbox, Waze, Amazon, and so forth, and constructed complex conceptual models of their chosen application in the MBSE language Object-Process Methodology.

The article is part of a research project concerned with assessing model-based systems thinking in science and engineering education.
